Peoples Bank is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

Under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program, certain interest-bearing checking accounts are also fully guaranteed for the entire amount in the account:

• Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts (IOLTAs) and Interest on Real Estate Trust Accounts (IRETAs); and 
• Select negotiable order to withdrawal accounts (NOW accounts) defined by account type (see NOW Eligibility below).

In those cases where balances are swept from an account eligible for the Transaction Account Guarantee Program to a non-qualified, insured bank account, the funds swept or transferred to the non-qualifying account will be insured in accordance with standard FDIC insurance limits. Funds swept to third party investment vehicles are not eligible for FDIC coverage.
 

NOW ACCOUNT ELIGIBILITY
Select interest-bearing transactions accounts qualify for full coverage under the transaction account guarantee program. The follow account types are eligible:

• Business Premium Checking
• Non-Personal Premium Checking
• Public Funds Premium Checking

The following interest bearing transaction accounts are not eligible for expanded coverage however the accounts continue to qualify for the standard FDIC insurance benefit:

• First Rate Checking
• First Rate Checking Premier
• Employee Premium Checking
• Health Savings Accounts
• Investor Checking
