Bellingham, WA – June 21, 2017 – Peoples Bank announced that Jan Armstrong, Vice President and Branch Manager of the Barkley Financial Center, will retire on June 30, 2017 after 25 years of service. Jan’s successor as Branch Manager is Chad Nickisch, who joined Peoples Bank earlier this month. Chad has more than 18 years of bank management experience and brings a very strong retail sales and service background. Peoples Bank customers and the Bellingham community is invited to attend a retirement reception for Jan at the Barkley Financial branch lobby on Thursday June 29th from 4:00 – 6:00pm.

A lifetime banker, Jan joined Peoples Bank in 1992 after nearly 20 years at Bellingham National Bank. Jan moved to Bellingham in 1970 and received training at the American Institute of Banking, Bellingham Technical College and Whatcom Community College. She’s been a member of the Kiwanis club for 26 years, and currently serves on the board. Through Kiwanis, Jan has supported such community projects as park clean-ups and food drives, as well as other community organizations including the Salvation Army and Boys & Girls Club. Jan also served as Treasure for the Whatcom County Realtor Association, and was recognized as the 2011 Whatcom County Affiliate of the Year and 2005 Washington Realtor Affiliate of Year.
