Peoples Bank Supports Banking Needs and Economic Growth of the North Pacific Fleet

November 17, 2016

Demonstrating its decades-long commitment to the maritime lending needs of the North Pacific Fleet, Peoples Bank will participate in the Pacific Marine Expo, November 17 – 19 at CenturyLink Field Event Center in Seattle, Washington. Curtis 'Arne' Arnesen, Senior Vice President and Commercial Team Leader, and his staff of dedicated maritime bankers, will be on hand at Booth #1221 to share their maritime lending expertise and build new customer relationships.

Arnesen and his five-person team are based at the Peoples Bank Ballard Financial Center, nearby Fisherman’s Terminal, home port for the North Pacific Fleet for the past nearly 100 years. Together they manage the largest volume of maritime lending of any bank on the West Coast.

“We’re not typical suit and tie bankers,” said Arnesen. “We’re a part of the community on the docks day in and day out. We bring Peoples Bank’s deep knowledge of the maritime lending business, and honest, fiscally responsible banking services to the North Pacific Fleet. The Pacific Maritime Expo is a great opportunity to deepen our relationships with existing customers and talk to new customers about how we can best meet their banking needs and help them reach financial success.”

Peoples Bank offers lending services for all aspects of the North Pacific Fleet, including for fishing vessels, fishing quota and fishing permits, in addition to banking services for shipyards and equipment providers. Some of the biggest names in the Fleet, including several of the captains featured on the Discovery Channel’s hit show Deadliest Catch, along with Pacific Fishermen Shipyard, Lunde Marine Electronics, and Hatton Marine, trust their business to Peoples Bank.

“Hatton Marine is one of the largest distributors of diesel engines and parts in the Pacific Northwest on land and on sea and it was important for us to find a bank that knows the commercial fishing industry inside and out,” said Ellen Hatton, President of Hatton Marine. “Peoples Bank isn’t your typical bank – they know firsthand who we are, what we do, and how to best serve our banking needs. No other bank matches the expertise and relationships of the Peoples Bank maritime lending team when it comes to serving the North Pacific Fleet.”
