Keeping An Eye Out For Pigs In Local Parks May Net You A Prize

Spotting a piggy bank in the coming weeks may net you a prize from Peoples Bank.

The "Pigs in Parks" contest starts at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7 - the bank will be hiding 250 softball-sized piggy banks in parks across Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, King, Island, Douglas and Chelan counties.

The contest ends at 6 p.m. on Aug. 28.

For those who find the pigs, turning them in to a local Peoples Bank branch will net a pair of sunglasses. BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Find a pig, win a prize.

Peoples Bank is sponsoring a contest called “Pigs in Parks.”

The bank hid 250 piggy banks in parks in Whatcom and six other counties.

Piggy bank hunters have until August 28th to find one and bring it to a Peoples Bank branch.

EDMONDS, WA - If you find a white piggy bank hidden in a city's park, it's OK to keep it. Bellingham-based Peoples Bank has hid a number of the little banks around the city in part to draw attention to the importance of savings. Plus, you get a prize from the bank if you find one.

Peoples Bank recently launched its “Pigs in Parks” contest, designed to raise awareness about the importance of saving.

Until Aug. 28, there will be 250 small piggy banks hidden in parks across Island County, as well as other locations throughout Washington state. The Coupeville and the Oak Harbor offices each chose one park to hide their pigs in.

When found, each piggy bank can be returned to a local Peoples Bank branch for a prize and to be entered in a drawing to win one of six grand prizes.
