Cory Nelson brings over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, specializing in both commercial and consumer lending as well as business development. For the past decade, Cory has focused on commercial lending, serving businesses throughout Western Washington, with 15 years dedicated to the Ballard market. His expertise spans a variety of industries, with a particular emphasis on maritime-adjacent businesses, including vessel supply, repair, storage, and maintenance, as well as commercial and industrial (C&I) and owner-occupied properties.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Cory values the strong relationships he builds with clients and the community. He is passionate about helping businesses succeed and takes pride in providing responsive, transparent, and dependable service. Cory appreciates working for a community-focused regional bank that prioritizes relationships over transactions and takes a long-term approach to supporting local businesses.
Deeply involved in the community, Cory serves as Vice President of the Norwegian Commercial Club and Treasurer of NorCham. He also volunteers with the Virginia V Foundation, a historic 104-year-old steamship, and participates in local cultural events such as the 17th of May parade. Outside of work, Cory enjoys camping, hiking, and backpacking.
