Bellingham’s biggest Independence Day celebration is back for 2026, promising a full day of community fun, live entertainment, and a dazzling fireworks finale over Bellingham Bay. The People’s Bank Fourth of July Spectacular, hosted in partnership with the Bellingham Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Port of Bellingham, will once again transform the waterfront into a festive hub for locals and visitors alike.
Set for July 4 from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Zuanich Point Park, the Spectacular has become a cornerstone of summer in Whatcom County. The event invites attendees to bring picnic blankets, gather with friends and family, and spend the evening enjoying everything from live music to family-friendly activities, all against the scenic backdrop of the Bellingham waterfront.
The festivities kick off in the late afternoon with a lineup designed to engage all ages. Highlights of the day include:
- Live performances: beginning with a kickoff celebration featuring the Bellingham Symphony Orchestra and special guests.
- Music and lawn games throughout the evening, creating a lively, festival-style atmosphere.
- A dedicated Kids Zone featuring interactive fun, including art activities, games, and entertainment.
- Playful competitions like watermelon and raspberry eating contests
No summer celebration is complete without great food, and the Spectacular delivers with vendors offering everything from savory meals to sweet treats and cold desserts, ensuring there’s something for every taste.
The highlight of the night is the largest fireworks display in Whatcom County, launching at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Due to the popularity of the event, attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure a good viewing spot and make the most of the afternoon activities. Walking or biking is often recommended, as parking near the waterfront can be limited during the event.
